[AMD] Research Associate
Dr. Engin Torun obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics at the Middle East Technical University in Turkey. He then obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from the Electronic Structure of Materials group of the Radboud University of Nijmegen in the Netherlands. After his Ph.D. he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Condensed Matter Theory group of the University of Antwerp in Belgium and Theoretical Solid State Physics group of the University of Luxembourg in Luxembourg. Dr. Torun is now a guest researcher in the AMD group and his expertise is investigating the electronic and optical properties of 2D materials using Density Functional Theory and Many-Body Perturbation Theory.
