Presentation at TU/e ICMS Annual Symposium 2026
Süleyman Er will present a talk titled Building the Self-Driving Lab for Energy Research at the TU Eindhoven’s Institute for Complex Molecular Systems Annual Symposium. This year’s symposium theme is Collaborative Science in Action. It will take place in the Auditorium building on TU/e campus on Tuesday, May 19. Süleyman Er to attend Türkiye–Netherlands AI academic gathering
On 18 May 2026, Süleyman Er will attend a dinner hosted by Fatma Ceren Yazgan, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Netherlands, in The Hague. The event will bring together Turkish academics based in the Netherlands to exchange views on artificial intelligence (AI) and explore opportunities for dialogue and collaboration between Türkiye and the Netherlands.
Congratulations to Max van Brenk
We congratulate Max van Brenk for the successful completion of his internship project at our AMD research group. As a student from the Physics and Astronomy Bachelor’s programme of Radboud University Nijmegen, Max has worked with us on an internship project titled Molten Salt Properties Python Evaluator. We wish Max success in his future career!

Presentation at the Forum on Artificial Intelligence in Research
Süleyman Er will present a talk titled The Use of AI for Autonomous Materials Discovery at the FAIR – Forum on Artificial Intelligence in Research on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. The Department of Materials Physics, Faculty of Sciences, at the Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain, is hosting the event, which will be held in Miraflores de la Sierra, Spain. FAIR offers a comprehensive, interdisciplinary perspective on artificial intelligence, exploring its various applications and implications in scientific research. Poster presentations at NWO ICT.OPEN 2025
Maas van Apeldoorn and Delaram Khalili Samani will present their posters at NWO ICT.OPEN 2025, on 16 April 2025 in Jaarbeurs, Utrecht. This national conference brings scientists from all ICT research disciplines and industries together to learn, share ideas, and network. Their posters are titled “Simulating Self-Driving Labs: Accelerating Research and Minimizing Risks” and “Emulating Self-Driving Labs: Enhance Workflows and Minimize potential Risks“, respectively.
Focus session on energy storage at FYSICA 2025
FYSICA is the annual physics conference of the Netherlands’ Physical Society (NNV). Every year one of the Dutch universities acts as co-organizer of the conference, so every year FYSICA takes place in another city. This year FYSICA 2025 will take place on Friday 11 April at Leiden University. Süleyman Er will contribute as a panelist to the Focus Session 1 of the NNV section for Energy and Climate: Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES). The session will be chaired by prof. dr Gerard van der Steenhoven (TU Twente, former chair NNV, former general director KNMI).

Publication in Chemistry-Methods
Our group introduces ChemPrice, an open software tool developed to streamline the process of collecting pricing data from over 100 chemical compound suppliers. ChemPrice ensures consistency in pricing units and provides comprehensive and best-available pricing information for the compounds being searched. In addition to the code highlight titled ChemPrice: A Python Package for Automated Chemical Price Search, published in Chemistry-Methods, we provide open-access source code, a user-friendly web application, and a comprehensive user manual.

Ceren Tayran and Can Oğuz have presented their posters at the EIRES Energizing Day 2024, which took place on November 19, 2024, at Eindhoven University of Technology. Their posters are titled Vanadium-Enhanced Tungsten for Fusion Reactors and AI-Driven Bimetal Catalyst Discovery for Green Hydrogen, respectively. In addition, the day marked a special occasion: the formal integration of the Center for Computational Energy Research (CCER), a collaborative initiative between TU/e and DIFFER, into the EIRES.
